  • SJ Anderson is a graphic designer and illustrator. They focus on hand-drawn accents, popping colors, and a DIY touch to any design problem they face. An Austin, Texas native and current Portland, Oregon resident, SJ is drawn to the punks, the artists, and the outsiders of the world. They hope to help spotlight alternative perspectives and find joy in chaos.

  • SJ worked as an in-house designer for Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas, headquartered in Austin, Texas. Design work included marketing assets across emails, digital advertisements, social media posts, direct mailers, and web assets for upcoming films. Outside of marketing materials, SJ also worked closely with the events team to create props for repertory movie parties, such as Shrek scratch-n-sniff cards or bandanas for Jurassic Park fans. In addition, SJ acted as Art Director for a number of special menu photoshoots, making backdrops and props to create a cohesive message between the films and the audiences.

  • SJ is an award-winning designer for their freelance work with Bottle Alley Theatre Company’s 2024 season, and has been recognized for their contributions in set design projections for Ground Floor Theatre’s Jack & Aiden. They specialize in poster design, utilizing mixed media and hand-made elements to add a human touch.

    In addition, SJ designed the branding for Dirty Gold Theatre from the ground up, working closely with the company to help determine a visual voice and translate the focus on sustainability and mindfulness within the theatre community.
